This is the Time to Act - Enigin Energy Saving Tips

posted by steve in Energy Saving

IN the northern hemisphere now is the time to act to save energy in the winter.

We tend to consider how much our air-con will be working as the days get warmer, and this should not be forgotten but hopefully we acted awhile ago to either replace an old inefficient unit or have an intelligent air-con controller fitter, before actually needed it so that when we switch the unit on it is not swallowing loads of money.

This assessment will determine the efficiency of the heating and cooling system and how to conserve energy. Corrections in the systems will save homeowners time and money.

What are these Carbon Emissions you read about?

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a gas emitted into the atmosphere from many sources but the area that causes concern is the CO2 emitted as a result of burning fossil fuels.

Through photosynthesis plants and organic matter removes the CO2 from the atmosphere and the carbon helps to make sugars, which may either be consumed in respiration or used as the raw material to produce other organic compounds needed for plant growth and development, the Oxygen part of the CO2 is returned to the atmosphere. When the plants are burnt, either as plants or as fossil fuels, the CO2 is released back into the atmosphere.

Particularly since the onset of the industrial revolution there has been an ever growing imbalance between the CO2 the plants and organic matter of the earth can deal with and the amount still within the atmosphere. But, because industry and our lifestyle now depend on fossil fuels the balance has tipped causing an excessive amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

Enigin Provide Advice & So Much More

Enigin PLC provide some of the most innovative energy solutions available today, but a lot of what we do is far more low key.

After the installation of the amazing Eniscope real-time energy monitor and it’s fantastic software an energy walk round takes place.

What does this involve? Well, more or less what it says.

A literal walk around of the business premises, whether commercial, industrial or public sector buildings, identifies basic areas where energy saving can take place. Offices with lights left on and no one occupying, computers left on, thermostats set too high or low maybe just someone to take responsibility to make sure everything is switched off at the end of the say.

Right away clients start to save on energy charges - then when they install other products to automatically activate energy-efficiency measures even greater savings are made and all of it catalogued by the Eniscope to prove what savings are being made.
